Article 36 (Thesis Submission Deadline) 

  1. ① A master's thesis must pass the review within 4 years from the student's date of admission, a doctoral thesis within 7 years, and a joint program thesis within 8 years.
  2. ② Periods of leave of absence and expulsion are not included in the deadlines specified in paragraph 1.
  3. ③ Students who have met the coursework requirements for each degree program may extend the deadline by up to 2 years with the approval of the Dean of the Graduate School, provided there are valid reasons. However, leaves of absence are not allowed during this extension period.
Eligibility for Semester Extension
  1. Students who quality for the course completion of their degree program (one should send their application at the end of their 8th semester for Master’s, 14th semester for PhD, and 16th semester for joint degree programs)
  2. Eligibility: when all of the following requirements are qualified

Semester Extension Procedures
Application submission period: Early January or July
Eligibility: Master's students in their 8th semester, PhD students in their 14th semester, and joint program students in their 16th semester who wish to apply for a semester extension
Procedures:
  1.     1. Complete the "Thesis Submission Deadline Extension Request Form"
  2.     2. Obtain the signature of your advisor on the request form.
  3.     3. Submit the form to the departmental office
  4.     4. Departmental approval:
    1.         - Obtain approval from both your advisor and the head of department. 
    2.         - The department sends an official document to the Graduate School.
    3.     5. Graduate School Dean Approval
    4.         - Notification of approved applicants will be sent to the relevant department in early February and August.
